Overview
As part of seasonal content development at Freepik Company, this project focuses on creating premium visual assets for Boxing Day campaigns. This collection is designed as a set of ready to use templates for kids fashion retailers and toy store owners who require modern, cheerful promotional visuals that are easy to apply across various media, from Instagram posts to large-scale print banners.
Challenge
The main challenge was to deliver visuals capable of conveying the urgency of a promotion without losing the playful vibe relevant to a family audience. Amidst the saturation of end of year discount designs that tend to be aggressive and repetitive, these assets needed to visually stand out, remain flexible enough for non-3D users to edit, and maintain consistency whether applied to square social media formats or landscape formats for print needs.
Solution
The design solution adopted a “Realistic Soft 3D” approach featuring chunky shapes, rounded edges, and soft lighting to create a friendly and modern impression. The color red, symbolizing a sale, was enriched with purple, orange, and light blue to build a cheerful party atmosphere. Gift and balloon elements were designed to resemble toys, while bold sans-serif typography with 3D extrusion effects helped the promotional titles visually blend with the objects rather than sitting as a mere text overlay.
The layout approach was adapted to the specific medium. For Instagram, a floating composition was maximized to ensure the message is instantly readable while scrolling. For banners and billboards, visual elements were placed with more structure to provide negative space for large headlines, ensuring readability from a distance.
Results
The final result is a cohesive and versatile set of templates, allowing users to run cross platform campaigns with a consistent visual identity. This collection provides a premium feel without complex production processes, while effectively capturing the attention of family audiences. The light and cheerful Soft 3D aesthetic successfully distinguishes these assets from conventional discount visuals, which tend to be rigid and monotonous.
