Overview
Within Envato Elements, the Sports category is often dominated by rigid, masculine visuals. This project aimed to create a more playful, inclusive, and high-energy poster template for the “20K City Run.” The target audience was urban running communities, charity races, and fun runs seeking a modern visual that resonates with Gen Z and Millennial participants across both print and social media.
Challenge
The core challenge was translating a sense of speed and motion into a static layout without sacrificing information hierarchy. The design needed to support oversized typography while keeping the runner imagery as the focal point, and use vibrant colors without overwhelming key details such as dates, QR codes, and calls to action.
Solution
I applied a “dynamic framing” approach, using typography as an active compositional element rather than static text. The main titles are angled diagonally to suggest movement while framing the central runner image. A coral red and pink base, accented with deep purple, creates an energetic, heat-driven mood that stands out in crowded feeds. Supporting graphic elements, rhythm lines and subtle sparkles add visual texture and reinforce the sense of momentum, while high-contrast placement ensures the QR code and CTA remain instantly scannable.
Results
The poster performed strongly as a commercial asset on Envato Elements. Its pop-sport aesthetic proved especially popular for summer runs and women-focused events, the clean layer structure allowed easy customization without breaking effects, and the bold color contrast helped the design achieve high visibility and engagement at thumbnail size.
